Dukane Mixer/Preamp 2A69

Hey gang!

So I acquired this old, single rack space, 6 channel mix preamp/mixer years and years ago when our local campus and community station, CFMH was cleaning out their production room.

It was a little more than useless as a mixer, as it sports screw terminals for the mic inputs, and the master out is a screw terminal or RCA! Wow!

Anyway, the mic pres are in dual-channel modules, and have metal can input transformers! They use a NE5533AN as the op-amp. It's a dual version of the famous and highly regarded NE5532AN. I think it's also pin compatible with Burr-Brown OPA2134...

I decided when I first got it that I'd chop this thing for parts, as the PSU had some useful stuff for other projects.

Well recently I've been into building preamps, and remembered this old hunker. I gave it a go over and decided it'd be worth my time to build a new PSU for it, remove the mixer board, add some in/out jacks (XLR and TRS) and maybe add some output transformers that I raped out of an old PBX.

Anyway, the main reason I never did anything with this beast before was because I couldn't find a SINGLE piece of information on this unit on line. And I tried. I knew the circuit was fairly simple, but I'm really lazy!

It occurred to me to contact Dukane and see what they could tell me. They forwarded me to G.E Securities (a division of General Electric) as they had sold "that part of the company many years ago".

I contacted GE, and the next day, I had a PDF of the manual including parts layout and parts list, block diagrams and schematics in my inbox!

Woohoo!

Here's the manual in case anyone else out there needs it! Enjoy!
