Auto-Tune the News
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I no longer wish that the source control server for Antares's Auto-Tune melts into a puddle.
You know Auto-Tune... It's that vocoder-like audio program that fixes all pitch mistakes in vocal performances, and instrumentation as well, making picture perfect tunes you you to listen to. Read Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, and basically anything that's on TV or radio.
Some time ago, some smarty pants producer, figured out that you could use Auto-Tune as an actual effect, sounding like a dynamic vocoder. Supposedly, it was Cher's producer. Good for her. It made her song "Believe" super big. Just because of this crappy effect...
Then, T-Pain and company got onto it, and instead of salt and peppering their music with the effect, EVERY SINGLE VOCAL passage is SLATHERED with it. It is their music. I wonder if Antares gets royalties...?
Over night I've changed my mind on Auto-Tune. The reason? Auto-Tune the News. Holy. Shit. It's....... really great. I have embedded all 9 episodes below. I won't bother to explain it. Just check it the heck out!
