Hammond 1656 Output Transformer
My pep-pep recently gave me a HUGE Hammond output transformer to help fix a friends amp, and ultimately to go into my Traynor YBA-1A clone I'm building.
This thing has a ton of taps, and the wiring is confusing as heck without a wiring diagram. The colours on the the wires are kind of faded, and it's hard to figure out what's up.
I emailed Hammond last night at like 12:30, and by 9:15 am today my time (8:15 in Ontario where Hammond is) I had a pdf datasheet for this old trafo! Amazing!
Since it isn't anywhere else on line, I'm providing the data sheet here for your downloading pleasure.

*** UPDATE ***
After sitting down with my transformer, I realize the sucker only has 8 wires, yet the datasheet claims that there should be 11!
Hmm, what's missing? 3 leads. It would make most sense if the two Ultra-linear leads and the 70V secondary were the ones to not be there.
I got over to my pep-pep's house, and he looked the trafo up in a 1960's Hammond catalog. According to the book, there are 3 or 4 versions of the trafo, some with UL taps, some without, etc, so it seems that my particular trafo, is the one without the UL and 70V taps. Just you're regular 3 leads for primary, and on the secondary, ground, 4 ohms, 8 ohms, and 16 ohms.
Much better.
