So.

Another blog.

What's the point? Good question. I've codenamed this blog "RandoBlog". I was sitting in my chair at the office when I though about posting a couple scattered, random, pointless observations I had made earlier somewhere. I wanted to stick them somewhere that wasn't facebook, so I set out to hand code an entire PHP blogging system to achieve this silly goal.

Can you have a RandoBlog? Maybe some day. I've already added a limited amount of user support, but don't know if I wanna make things public or not.

I already have a blog site that I hand coded in PHP almost 10 years ago, but I figured I'd start something totally different, just for fun.

So here it is: A collection of jumbled, random thoughts, images, etc.

Stay tuned, or don't. I don't really care.

Things to remember

So for the comments, there will only be a "Comments (23)" on the home page. When an entry is displayed on read.php, the comments are automatically presented. Entry -> Comments box -> Comments

Private comments - private reply (only the original author of the comment can read the reply.

Threaded comments!

Themes. Is it time for smarty yet?

Tags affect the site search and the web search. Site search is on tags, titles and body. Look into indexing on the DB.

Signup form. To the point.

Counter/stats/logging - Something like BCj. Be cool to write every sql and php error out somewhere. Add a counter member to the sql class so I can keep track of how many queries per page.

Remote backups!!! Do a nightly tar of the site and send to BCJ webspace, or home box.

BBcode/Tiddlywiki code - Probably just write my own parser, using some of the old school BBcode.

Making the software to drive a blog is probably always funner than actually writing the blog.

Sometimes when I've decided I'm going to write a blog entry, I'll just go re-read things on www.27bslash6.com and be done with it. I just did that a moment ago, but I got distracted from being distracted and now here I am.

Yeah.

This world is totally fucked. I envy the people of "uncultured" societies. The hidden tribes of Africa, the Amazon...

These people know nothing about Paris Hilton or her entirely public search for a new BFF (and now, even newer, a British BFF!). They have never heard a Auto-Tune slathered, terrible T. Pain re-mix.

They have never had to sit through a back-to-back set of The Hills and then The Hills Aftershow - where the hosts of MTV lead an hour long show TALKING ABOUT THE EPISODE THEY JUST WATCHED!!!!!

T.I has his own show where he leads interventions.... On TV! People pay to watch this shit! WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!!???!?!?!?!!??!!

Who watches these shows?! I am hopeful that no one actually watches these shows, and that everyone feels the same as me. If they happen to flip past any of these shows they laugh at the absurdity of it all.
